Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and also no.
The history of hemp in the US goes back quite a ways (think powdered wigs and Colonial pantaloons), but the kind of CBD we’re talking about made its first cameo back in 1937.
Since then, folks have been researching it, testing it, and using it for an enormous array of medicinal purposes. But about three years ago it entered the wellness industry at full force.
The reason it’s become so popular? Because it works. And while other wellness crazes often come and go, CBD has stuck around due to its variety of benefits and versatility for use.
As cliché as this is going to sound, the better question is: what doesn’t it do? The range of benefits this cannabidiol boasts is impressive to say the least (check out our CBD 101 highlight for a list), but it’s best known for its incredible anti-inflammatory and stress-relieving properties.
Full-spectrum CBD is when the whole plant CBD is made by extracting a full profile of beneficial cannabinoids and ternes from the hemp plant, including trace amounts of THC (but never enough to get you high). Full spectrum CBD is the most pure, unprocessed, and unfiltered hemp extract which contains all of the hemp plant's beneficial nutrients.
Broad-spectrum boasts the same blend of additional cannabinoids but is THC-free. It begins as a full spectrum oil then goes through a refinement process to remove all THC compounds.
The main differences between CBD (and the brands that make it) come down to three main things: the quality of the CBD distillate, the process used to extract it, and the extracts used to enhance it.
Different hemp oils have different CBD content (some more concentrated than others). High-quality oil is derived from hemp that’s naturally more abundant in CBD. For our tinctures, we offer US-derived Full-Spectrum CBD oil meaning it uses the entire plant when extracting, therefore taking advantage of all of its benefits.
The way CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant also affects the quality, and cleanliness, of the product. Some extraction techniques leave toxic solvents in the CBD, while others (like ours) don’t.
And then come the extracts. Different extracts have different effects, and some extracts are all-natural while others have additives.
We’re so happy you asked. On top of exclusively using the highest quality distillate and the most meticulous extraction techniques required to maintain the purity of the CBD, what really sets us apart are our aromatherapy extracts and our process.
We’ve spent a lot of time carefully curating the best lineup of natural botanicals to boost our CBD’s effects. They’re straight from Mother Nature and sourced responsibly, and their plants’ natural properties are perfectly preserved during extraction. Individually, they each bring a unique benefit to the table. When blended together, they elevate the efficacy of each others’ benefits in a beautiful way.
Which brings us to our process… and the next question.
It’s not a thing, it’s our thing. But to better answer your question: it’s a production process where we create less quantity of a product to allow ourselves the time, attention, and oversight to ensure it’s all absolutely perfect. Hand-infusing and hand-packing the products to ensure the highest quality outcome.
We pride ourselves on going the extra mile to research, source, test, blend, and perfect every single one of our products. So small batch production was the perfect solution for us. It’s not standard in the industry, but we think it should be.
The short answer is no. The long answer is no, too. But if you want to learn a little more, pop over to our CBD 101 highlight on our Instagram page and take a peek at “full- vs. broad-spectrum CBD”.
Great question. We have dose recommendations on all of our packaging, but the best way to start your CBD journey is low and slow. Every body is different so everyone’s experience is different too. Our personal approach? Start small, see when you start to feel your desired effect, and stop there.
Yes we do! We offer free convenient shipping for all of our CBD products online.
